As we come to the end of January, I’m sure by now most of us have long given up on our resolution; be it to go to the gym more, eat healthier or even drink less - most of us by now are curled under a duvet on the sofa eating a take away with a beer but it doesn’t have to be that way!

One difficulty with achieving our resolutions is our attachment to the past - this attachment to our past failures means we’re doomed to fail before we begin, we expect ourselves to fail and therefore we do but it’s not about working hard. It’s about working smart.

The issue with this annual failure isn’t a lack of motivation, it’s that we throw our bodies into the challenge and not our minds. Our resolutions are so often about physically improvement or for physical benefit with the irony being they’re clearly achieved by mental persistence.
